Testing...

I did some photoshop sketchy stuff this morning just for fun really. I've simplified the character a little more and slammed some odd colours together on a background. I'm happy that my world doesn't have to reflect reality all that much now. It's actually a lot like the world of my animation in the previous project, as is the character.

This is an a3 pencil sketch I did a few minutes after the digital one. Now I suppose the question is whether I scan in images like this to digitally colour or whether I redraw over this entire sketch. Since I don't have access to an a3 scanner right this moment, I'll try the redrawing method.

Well as soon as I had redrawn the lines I could already tell that it wasn't going to work, which is good because I didn't want to have to spend AGES colouring and stuff to then realise. I know exactly why too. The world I've drawn is, although sketchy, of a much higher detail than the character. I need to keep things simple and stylised. So that will be my next test.

I need to come back to this with fresh eyes later. I still like the sketchy first drawing the best and I need to figure out why! I gave up on this one half way through.
